Never + TikTok

Never publishes finished videos directly to TikTok: connect the account once, and every edit can be queued, scheduled and posted with a TikTok-native caption. Before submitting, Never validates duration, aspect ratio and file size against TikTok's current limits and repairs violations — trimming a copy, never silently truncating.

How do you connect TikTok?

  1. Open Social Studio. In Never, open the calendar and choose Connected accounts.
  2. Add TikTok. Pick TikTok as one of the five slots in your profile set — every slot is swappable later.
  3. Authorize. Sign in on TikTok's own consent screen. Never receives a posting token, never your password.
  4. Pick defaults. Choose default visibility, posting window and caption behaviour for this account. Changeable per post.
  5. Publish something. Queue any finished deliverable to the new account. The first post verifies the connection end to end.

What are TikTok’s hard limits?

LimitTikTok enforcesWhat Never does
Durationper-account cap via the posting APIchecks before queueing; over-cap → trimmed copy offered
Aspect ratio9:16 native full-screenre-renders at 9:16 from the same EDL — a cache hit, not a re-edit
File sizeupload size ceilingre-encodes to fit at the highest bitrate that passes

What does Never repair before publishing?

Every deliverable is an EDL, so “wrong aspect” or “too long” is a re-render, not a rejection. Never validates against the limits above and repairs before submitting — you see the fix, not the failure.

Rejection that would happenAuto-repair
Video 61s against a 60s captrimmed 59s copy prepared; you pick which ships
Landscape file queued to TikTokvertical re-render from the same EDL, face-tracked crop
Caption over the platform's lengthshortened preserving the hook, shown for approval

Why pre-flight repair beats error messages

A scheduler that reports failures still hands the failure to you at the worst time — after you stopped thinking about the post. Never's rule is fix, don't report: validate against the limits above, prepare the repaired version, and ask one question with the fix attached. The caption length checker runs the same validation logic, free.

Frequently asked questions

Does Never post to TikTok automatically or do I approve each post?

Your choice per account and per post: approve from the calendar, or let scheduled posts publish themselves. Agencies typically gate everything; solo creators typically gate the first week and then let it run.

What happens if my video is over TikTok's duration cap?

Never trims a copy to fit and offers you the trimmed version — it never silently truncates and never submits something that will bounce. Because every deliverable is an EDL, the trim is a re-render, not a crop of a finished file.

Can TikTok captions differ from my other platforms?

They do by default: each platform gets copy written for what it rewards. TikTok copy leans on the hook and native phrasing; the same post on LinkedIn reads like LinkedIn.
